So, how much candy did your kids get on Halloween? Ugh, my kids got a ton of candy. Big, full size candy bars, lots of them, along with all of the other usual suspects. By the time we headed for home, I had to carry her pumpkin and let me tell you, it was heavy.
Kaitlyn went through her candy after we got home to see what she got and do you want to know the first thing that she ate? GOLDFISH!!!!!! She ate the Goldfish crackers! Is she really my kid? She bypassed the chocolate and sugar and went for…crackers? Holy cow. That’s great, but not really cuz now I am left staring at this monstrous bucket of cavities and future pounds added to my butt. I’d love to say that I am strong enough to not dip into it and to just pass right by. Ya, no. I dipped in and had a few pieces. Yep, I sure did. I am not happy about it. But, whatever, I kind of expected it.
LOL! We give our kids one week to eat to their hearts content and rack up the dentist bills, and then it is donated to our school carnival to be used as prize candy. Lucky us, the carnival is the Friday after Halloween every year! Because for me it is “a moment on the lips, forever on the hips!”
Take a few of your favorites with you to the polls today to sweeten the wait.
The kids received tons of candy also. Even before trick or treat started, a neigbor stopped by and gave both kids huge halloween bags half way filled with candy. During trick or treat, I actually had to ask another neigbor for a “dump bag” to put their candy in because their bags were too heavy for them to carry. As for what to do with it all, I usually bring candy to work and let my clients dig in.This helps to cut down and what we eat home and I know it’s not being wasted.
My daughter didn’t get very much candy. I think they hit alot of “cheapskates” this year. Which is fine by me!! Bella would rather have healthy snacks too, but she won’t turn down chocolate if it’s around, lol!Jeannie
LOL Ian was diving into the candy Nana had on her bed for him (after hundred of t-or-t’ers. Luckily most of it is going to the inmates in a facility that a friend of hers works at, and they will appreciate it.The littlest diva took almost all of our candy to her party to dole out so we weren’t left with all the extra pounds (and cavities).
